  • Ana Shaw's Turkey Meatballs

    Meatballs 

    1 1/2 ground turkey 93% lean

    2 teaspoons onion power 

    2 teaspoons garlic powder 

    1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs 

    3 tablespoon chopped fresh Italian parsley 

    Salt & pepper

     

    Sauce

    2 14.5- ounce cans stewed tomatoes- Italian style

    4 leafs fresh basil - or 1 tablespoon dry basil

    1 tablespoon dry oregano

    1/2 medium onion finely chopped.

    4 cloves of minced garlic 

    1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

    1/4 cup red wine 

    1 teaspoons red pepper flakes- optional 

    3 tablespoon olive oil

    Salt & pepper 

     

     

    Preheat oven 350°

    Make meatballs mixing all the ingredients. Form the meatballs about 1 inch. 

    Transfer to Pirex and put in the oven.

    Make sauce, pure in the blender, tomato, oregano, basil and salt.

    Heat the olive oil sauce onions and garlic add the tomato mixed. Let simmer for 10 mins add pepper, cheese, red pepper flakes and wine let simmer for another 5 minutes. Pour sauce over meatballs in the oven. Cook them for another 20-25 minutes.

     

    Serve with spaghetti and more fresh Parmesan cheese!
